The University of St Andrews Hockey Club has done some fantastic work in the local community over the last few years, in recognition of this we have received some funding from Teach First.
The money from Teach First will be used to send coaches into Primary Schools across North East Fife in early 2018 to deliver a 4 week block of coaching sessions prior to a Hockey Festival on the 22nd of March. The Hockey Festival will be open to all Schools in North East Fife to take part in to increase Hockey participation in the local community.
While we already have 4 schools in mind we hope that this project will become self sustaining in the future, if you know of any schools that may want to be involved in this project in the future then please get in touch with Director of Hockey, Jamie Carnegie on Jamie.Carnegie@st-andrews.ac.uk
Teach First is ranked third in the Times Top 100 list of Graduate Employers, and their Leadership Development Programme is world-class, combining global best practice in leadership development and teacher training. They support exceptional people like to become influential leaders in schools across England and Wales, to make sure every child succeeds, regardless of their background.
One recent Hockey Club Graduate is working with Teach First in England currently.
