Community Engagement

The University of St Andrews and the Hockey Club is committed to developing Hockey in the Community.

The Hockey Club has developed a Nationally recognised programme with the work done in partnership with Madras HC. As a club Madras were struggling for members and in 2015 a partnership was created. The students during term time delivered hockey to local kids from 7-16 and filtered the children into the club sessions to allow the club to grow and become sustainable again.

These sessions have continued to develop since 2015 and in the 2 years since inception hockey has been delivered to over 200 children through Taster sessions, Saturday morning sessions and Holiday Hockey Camps. Hockey as a sport is one of the best for the sense of community that it has and we want to develop this in the area. We are always looking for ways to increase participation of hockey in the area through coaching or competition at the excellent facilities we have on offer.
